Moving in December

Down the Earth will be moving to 100 Grove St and sharing space with Licensed Acupuncturists Clovis Padilha Jr and Claudia Caldas at Quality Community Acupuncture.

My last day at the current office will be Saturday, November 19. I will be starting in the new office on December 5. My new schedule will be Mondays from 9:30am-1:30pm and Thursdays from 2pm-6pm. This schedule may expand a bit in the future. I encourage you to schedule with the other practitioners if their shifts are a better fit for you.

I will continue to teach Somatics classes, both online and (hopefully) in person. By reducing my acupuncture shifts, I will also be able to provide more convenient times for Somatics classes. If you have not tried a class yet, you are missing out!

More details will follow, but here’s some important information you should know:

Scheduling for the new space is not live yet. I will be working on this in the coming month. If you have an appointment scheduled with me for December (or beyond), it will likely need to be changed.

The sliding scale is slightly different. All practitioners working out of QCA use a sliding scale of $30-$60. The first visit is $50 (though I probably will not be taking new patients for the first several months).

If you have any remaining prepaid packages, they will be converted to the new sliding scale, depending on how much you paid for the package and how many treatments you have already used. For example, if you bought a sale package of 5 treatments for $85, you paid $17 per treatment. If you have 2 treatments left on that package, that would be $34, which would equal one treatment at the new space. If you bought 10 treatments for $250, you paid $25 per treatment. If you have 5 treatments left on the package that would be $125, which would equal 4 treatments at the new sliding scale. This may be a bit confusing as I transition over and I ask for your patience. I have been very generous so far with honoring older packages bought at lower prices, to the point of taking a loss, and I hope you can appreciate that I can no longer afford to do so.

The QCA office uses treatment tables instead of recliners. There are pillows and bolsters available for your comfort. The clinic is Bring Your Own Blanket.

There is parking! No need to worry about parking on Grove Street, there is a designated lot available for you. I will cover this in my next email.

Stay tuned for the next newsletter, which will have more specifics about the new space. Also, keep your eyes out for an announcement about an office moving sale, which will have lots of great furniture (recliners, office chairs, file cabinets, and more!) at low prices.

Above all, thank you for your support over the years. I have loved my last 9 years working out of the Stafford St office, and I am very excited for the next stage. Any questions, feel free to let me know.
